How To Change Your Life

Want to change your life or somehow improve it for the better?

You might need some encouragement. More importantly, you need some specific steps to take so that you can actually make some improvements to your life, so this is for you!

The very first thing you must have deep inside yourself is the desire to change your life and to grow, and therefore become a better version of yourself.

You absolutely must take full charge of your life and quit living with your excuses and doubts. Boldly sweep them aside and start working on yourself. Realize that it won’t necessarily be easy, but it will be worth it!

We all have control over our own thoughts and actions so that is the place to begin. Most likely you are looking at things with complacency, acceptance, or negativity and doubts. Take off the ‘negativity glasses’ and replace them with the rose-colored ones that all the optimists wear!

How to do that?

Second, it takes a change in attitude, from the negative (or complacent) to a more positive view.

Learn to look at life in a more positive way. This is harder for some people than others. Much of our outlook on life is a learned response, often learned in our upbringing. If your parents were more upbeat and always looking at the glass as half-full, you are likely to view life the same way.

Unfortunately, many of us do not grow up in households such as that or perhaps have experienced the ‘school of hard knocks’ so many times that we forgot how to be positive. But this view of life can be adjusted, and you can actually learn how to become more positive.

Changing your perspective is the beginning of changing your life.

You can read books, take classes, and hang around positive people to learn how to do it. (Or you can take an easier route and get my Positivity Reboot — A Five Day Mindset Reset to Help You Get Out of the Negative and Into Living the Life You Have Imagined)

It doesn’t matter the path you take; what matters is that you recognize your attitude is stopping you from living your best life and you take action to correct it.

Third, dream big.

This is a learned behavior and can therefore be changed. What it means is that instead of accepting your situation in life — start to dream big!

What would you really want in life if you could have, be or do anything you choose?

Would you want to be in better shape, live a healthier lifestyle, travel, make new friends, start a second career, find your soulmate, write a book, or get a degree?

Spend some time and think about what you really want in life or at least some goals to work towards.

Getting to your goal is not just about setting your intentions, writing them down and hoping for the best.

You must take action! In order for the ‘action’ to stick and become an everyday part of your life, you need to develop the proper habits that will get you there.

You can read books, take classes, and watch webinars to figure out how to adapt new habits into your life.

Again, setting proper habits in place is a learned behavior. It is not rocket science. It can be learned. You can do it. Yes, it takes practice and determination, but it is doable.

The next thing that will happen could seem like a miracle.

Once we decide where we want to go and take repetitive action to get there, the landscape of our life changes — literally one step at a time.

Think of yourself as a seed, planted in the garden.

Progress is slow at first and nothing seems to be happening.

Then there is a sprout.

Then a couple of inches of growth occur.

Eventually, it’s a large plant with all the fruits (or veggies) of its labor to show for the efforts. You can be like that too!

After consistent action and dedication, you will become a new YOU!

You might change your life so much that friends and family might not even recognize you. (You might not even recognize yourself!) You will have taken the steps necessary to change your life to a new, better life.

And you want to know what is the most amazing thing about the entire process?

You can do it again!

Yes, you can keep re-inventing or up-leveling your life to a newer, better version, ‘specifically-designed by you version’ of yourself.

You will start to see and believe that it is never too late to start living your best life!

Then repeat up-leveling yourself each time to a new version of yourself.

I want to help you get there with encouragement and strategies. Yes, you still have to put in the time and effort. You still have to do the work.
But it will be so worth it.

You never know what you might become if you change your life, face your biggest fears, expand your comfort zone, and reach towards the most fantastic version of yourself!
