Letting Go
Learning to let go is sometimes hard to do. We tend to get stuck in our normal behavior because that’s what we know, and it feels comfortable.
Eventually, however, we all come to a point in our lives when we must learn to let go for our own well-being. We have to learn to let go to make room for something new to come into our life. Often that “something” is better.
Here are some examples you have likely encountered:
-Letting go of a job that is exhausting, a poor fit for your skills, or is just a soul-sucking way to get a paycheck. Leaving such a job clears the way for other opportunities better suited to your lifestyle and interests.
-Letting go of a friendship that has run its course. Perhaps this individual has moved away, your interests have changed, or their negative attitude is just a downer you no longer wish to endure. Slowly distancing this person from your life means you have more time for new friends and acquaintances who more closely align with your interests.
-Letting go of a love interest, soul mate, or spouse is sometimes necessary. One of you moves on, outgrows the other, or life just simply isn’t working! It could be a heart-wrenching decision, but starting over can lead to some really good things! For instance, time for personal development, time to pursue your interests, and the freedom to travel. Not to mention the opportunity for new love!
Try to think of “Letting Go” as just peeling away another layer of the onion, as you discover your true identity and the life you were meant to live.
We all deserve to live the life of our dreams and doing so often requires letting go.
