Looking for Happiness is NOT the Secret to Becoming Happy
The secret to happiness is positivity.
But you don’t need to spend thousands of hours sitting in lotus, going to expensive therapists, or buying new things to get it.
What you need is to reset your default mindset for POSITIVITY.
If you’ve struggled to stay positive and “see the bright side,” you might feel like you’re doomed to spend the rest of your life feeling unhappy, sad or even hopeless.
It’s even more difficult right now when the world seems to have gone completely out of control and we can’t see where it’s going.
Maybe you’ve gone through personal ups and downs throughout your life, but lately, it’s harder and harder to shake off sadness or gloom every time you go through it.
… you feel stuck in your life and you start thinking “Oh, what’s the use of even trying?”
You CANNOT give up!
You just haven’t found the solution yet.
Persistence is the key.
It can also be the hard part because we try to do too much, too fast and expect things to change instantly.
Instead, what I learned was to do very small, very doable, achievable things each day. You might think, “But do such small things make a difference?”
First, just accomplishing even a tiny step is encouraging. It will want to make you feel that success again.
Second, it’s so simple that most of the time it doesn’t feel hard or like work.
That, I discovered, was how I kept persisting. I made it simple, easy and something that I could DO.
Here’s what a positive outlook will NOT do for you:
- magically change the physical world around you
- change everyone around you (but some people will respond positively to your new self)
- stop all bad or difficult things from happening
Here’s what it WILL do for you:
- You’ll be more optimistic about your life and your ability to change …
- Which leads to taking action instead of feeling helpless …
- Taking action means you start doing and creating the things you WANT in your life …
- Which means that you will feel more positive and be more optimistic, persistent and more action-oriented.
I call this the Golden Spiral of Positivity!
Again, the most important discovery I’ve learned is that rebooting your attitude and reprogramming your thoughts for positivity is not nearly as hard as you think — in fact, it’s almost easy — IF YOU KNOW THE TECHNIQUES and STRATEGIES that forward-thinking, positive people have used, often subconsciously.
