Why Changing Your Perspective is So Valuable

Do you ever notice those people who are constantly upbeat, positive, cheerful and have a great outlook on life, even when it’s clear that life is not going well for them?

Chances are it’s their perspective. Yes, it’s all about how they perceive their life, the situation, or an event.

Others might perceive a fall down the stairs as a painful, undeserved accident, and subsequently reminisce about this unfortunate event to anyone within listening distance. But those individuals who have mastered the art of managing their perspective will look at things differently. They might think of it as a reminder to hold on to the rail when using the staircase. They could reminisce how being present in the moment and consciously lifting each leg and placing their foot on the next step is a better course of action versus thinking ahead to a future activity. They don’t wallow in the pain of their injury and relive it by re-telling the debacle to others.

They simply learn their lesson and move on. Consequently, they take this new-found wisdom, even if it’s just a snippet, and move on with life with their cheerful outlook in place.

This is how your perspective can keep you grounded in the moment, lift your spirits, and keep you moving forward in life.

Think about this the next time you stub your toe (metaphorically) before deciding how you will react. Adopting the right perspective makes all the difference!
