Your Actions

An excerpt from The New I AM Document, Volume II

It’s true that Your Actions speak louder than words, which is a concept many are still learning how to execute.

Take the father who tells his son he must be responsible in his job as a paper boy. He reiterates to the boy how he must deliver the papers early in the morning even though he’d rather sleep in.

He reminds the boy to be cheerful to the patrons/customers as he collects the payments. He suggests these actions be timely in nature. He tries to instill a sense of responsibility in his young protégée.

Yet, the father is not so diligent in his own life. He calls in sick some mornings because he was up drinking the night before. He gives his customers shoddy service and neglects the timely collection of funds. He may even lose his job.

His son will surely observe the situation, even if subconsciously and even if he doesn’t know the level of incompetence or irresponsibility his father has exhibited. The child is likely to follow in the father’s shaky footsteps despite the words he has spoken.

This is the reason it’s so important to do as one says and not just provide lip service. Others observe our behavior as well as our words, if they do not match as is often the case, then our actions will speak volumes. Our actions are the final determinate of our character, of our being, and of our soul.

Until such time as our actions and words match, we will still have work to do in the evolvement of our soul.

Everyone has their own path and journey; however, one should be aware of the consequences of the delay in learning this valuable lesson. Our road will be much rockier, more treacherous, and hence more painful.

All this turmoil can be easily avoided if one strives to match their words with the appropriate action.

This is a requirement for the advancement of our soul development on our path to ascension, the final plan of God for all his beings.
